Tom Stringham
Tom is the owner of imagineFORM, located in New York. Tom has spent his entire life building and tinkering.
Tom’s interest in building started at an early age when he took apart his father's electric razor and turned it into a mini lathe. Although his creation worked perfectly, his dad wasn’t so thrilled that he destroyed his razor.
After high school, Tom drove west to attend the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts. Here Tom honed his metal working and design skills and earned his Graduate Jeweler Certificate.
In 2002 Tom and his wife opened an art gallery and design space in Batavia NY which they ran for three years. PIECES Gallery was known across the state as a gathering place for the area’s artists. After PIECES, Tom joined Emerald Models, a fabrication shop, working on many art installation and fabrication projects across the country.
In 2016, Tom fulfilled a lifelong dream of starting his own design firm, imagineFORM. ImagineFORM’s primary focus is product research and Development and short run high skill production, although Tom never turns down a challenge and is likely to entertain all manner of cool projects!
Tom’s portfolio includes ForestHouse, a school bus converted to a rolling sound machine and light show, designed for the Burning Man Festival. ForestHouse made its debut in 2015 and was awarded one of the best art cars at the festival in both 2015 and 2016.
ImagineFORM has worked with nationally recognized artists to help their artistic vision come to life, Roberly Bell , Bruce Beasley, Kelly Reemtsen, and Brece Honeycutt. This has included Building a 20 foot tall chandelier covered in over 250,000 Swarovski crystals to hand carving a 3 foot tall smashed lipstick.
ImagineFORM has frequently consulted with national art museums, including the Albright Knox Museum in Buffalo, NY and The Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, NY. ImagineFORM has also completed many restoration projects for artists, including Beverly Pepper, Alexander Liberman and Buffalo, NY landmark “Shark girl.”
In his free time, Tom can be found spending time with his wife April and his six children. You might also find him exploring the woods behind his house, raising tilapia, digging a pond, or brewing beer.
